    Privacy Policy

    Effective date: August 27, 2026

    Introduction

SecureBit ("SecureBit," "we," "us," or "our") is a cybersecurity consulting business based in Canada. We are committed to being transparent about the information we collect through this website and how we use it. This Privacy Policy describes our current practices for securebit.ca. It is intended as a clear, good-faith description of how this website actually works, not as a claim of compliance with any specific privacy law.

    Information We Collect

We distinguish between three categories of information:

    • Information you voluntarily submit. This includes details you provide through our contact form, such as your name, email address, company, and the content of your message.
    • Technical information required to operate and secure the website. Like most websites, our hosting and security infrastructure (Cloudflare) processes standard technical information — such as IP address, request headers, and timing — as part of delivering the site and protecting it against abuse. This processing happens at the infrastructure level and is necessary for the website to function and remain secure.
    • Optional analytics information, if enabled in the future. We may, at some point, use analytics tools to understand how visitors use this site so we can improve it. Where our website implementation supports asking for consent before such analytics run, we will only do so after you accept via the cookie banner. See "Cookies and Local Storage" and "Analytics" below for the current status.

    Contact Forms

Information you submit through our contact form is used to respond to your inquiry and to communicate with you about the services you asked about. Submitted inquiries are processed using Supabase (our application backend and database) and delivered to our team by email via Microsoft 365 / Microsoft Graph.

We retain contact form submissions only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry and to satisfy applicable legal, accounting, or business record-keeping requirements. We do not currently commit to a specific fixed retention period, as this depends on the nature of the inquiry.

    Cookies and Local Storage

Essential functionality. This website uses the technical minimum necessary for it to function and remain secure, consistent with our infrastructure provider's requirements.

Your cookie consent preference. When you make a choice in our cookie banner, we store that choice in your browser's local storage under the key securebit_cookie_consent, with a value of either "accepted" or "rejected." This value only records your preference — it is not a tracking cookie, is not sent to any third party, and contains no personal information.

Optional analytics cookies. Where this website's implementation supports optional analytics, they are only initialized after you select "Accept All" in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the site footer.

    Analytics

We do not currently have an analytics platform (such as Google Analytics or a similar tool) implemented in this website's source code.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, offers a separate, dashboard-level analytics feature that can be enabled independently of this website's codebase. Whether that feature is active for securebit.ca at any given time should be verified and configured directly through our Cloudflare account rather than assumed from this policy. If and when any analytics service is enabled, it will be configured to respect the consent mechanism described above wherever technically supported.

    Third Parties and Service Providers

We use the following third-party service providers to operate this website. We do not share the information described above with any other third party for marketing purposes.

    • Cloudflare — website hosting, content delivery, and security infrastructure.
    • Supabase — application backend and database used to process contact form submissions.
    • Microsoft 365 / Microsoft Graph — used to deliver email notifications when a contact form is submitted.

    Security

As a cybersecurity consulting business, we take the security of this website seriously and apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including security headers, transport encryption (HTTPS/TLS), and access controls on our backend systems. No website or online service can be guaranteed to be free of all risk, and we cannot promise that information you transmit to us will never be subject to unauthorized access.

    Data Retention

We retain the information described in this policy only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and to meet applicable legal, accounting, or business record-keeping obligations. We do not currently commit to fixed retention periods for every category of information described above.

    Your Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have rights regarding the personal information we hold about you, which can include the ability to request access to, correction of, or deletion of that information. If you would like to make such a request, or have any question about how your information is handled, please contact us using the details below and we will respond to reasonable requests.

    Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our website, services, or practices change. We will update the effective date above when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
